Crafty volunteers sought by Midsomer Norton Library

Midsomer Norton Library is looking for enthusiastic and creative volunteers to help deliver craft events.

The role of craft volunteer is a varied one, but may involve setting up the space, welcoming children, explaining and demonstrating the craft activity, supporting and encouraging children while they work on their creations, recording information such as attendance numbers, and tidying up the space.

While some crafting ability is desirable, it is more important that volunteers are encouraging and nurturing of the children's creative expression.

As these sessions are often one-off events around a specific theme there is no fixed timetable, but they will usually be during the school holidays or at weekends.

The library, which is in The Hollies on the High Street, would like to recruit a pool of volunteers who may be available to help in some of the sessions, and organisers will ensure that there is plenty of notice given for each individual event.
