Our top picks for the weekend:

Starting Friday and steaming through the weekend, it is the End of Season Gala at Somerset & Dorset Railway in Midsomer Norton. Volunteers have been working incredibly hard towards the gala - if there are any tickets left check with the website sdjr.co.uk, where you can also find details and timetables.

But even if you just love to see and hear the trains there will be plenty of excitement up at the Silver Street station. Click here for your ticket to ride.

Saturday night and its live music at Mardons Social Club in Westfield.

VooDoo Seven make their long overdue return. Described as a wild and eclectic mix, they play all the hits you love ... even the ones you won't admit to. Why not grab a friend and head on up there? Details stick a pin HERE: they say it is fun - GUARANTEED

And on Sunday October why not take a taste test - part of the Real Ale Festival nationwide and The Palladium on Midsomer High Street will be having some special offers. Read all about the festival HERE : .. want to know more about a rather special Exmoor Wicked Wolf ?
