Somer Valley FM, the local radio station for North East Somerset, based in Midsomer Norton, are celebrating Local Radio Day on Friday 15 October.

This year's theme is Love Your Place.

Richard Burgess, Station Manager, is excited about the day: 'This is our day. This is radio's day. The theme is Love Your Place – and we want to know what our residents love'.

Special shows will be broadcast throughout the day, including a live Breakfast show, from Midsomer Norton High Street.

'From 8am Friday we'll be at Muffins Bakery, then onto Jacarandas Cafe and Essence Cafe', Richard added, 'where we're hoping to hear first-hand what people do love around our local area. Let us know about your favourite place, then we'll broadcast it during our breakfast show.'
