This week the sun shone for the opening of the rejuvenated Shakespeare Road Play Area in Westfield.

Packed with exciting new play equipment, including an accessible trampoline and swing, this play park has been long awaited and was immediately teeming with young people.

Chair of Westfield Parish Council, Cllr Geoff Fuller said:" We are appreciative of all the work the B&NES Play Officers have put into creating this brilliant play park. The mix of play equipment is unique, it is motivating and fun and clearly the young ones love it. It is good to see such significant investment in this area of Westfield, I am sure the play park will be valued for years to come."

The rejuvenation was funded through the s.106 pot, which is the funding developers pay to enhance the infrastructure of an area.
