A new festival, a new fundraiser and headlining, the Midsomer local band, who are all still at school, but take to the stage with confidence beyond their years.

Early bird tickets are now on sale for a one day festival this summer which is truly local event.

BFM stands for Beer, Food & Music and this summer that is what Midsomer Norton Rugby Club are shaping their brand new one-day festival around this summer. The event, which will take place on 20th June, was launched earlier this week.

The organisers are keen to support the great recent resurgence in local music events, shown in the headline booking of local favourites Avalon Highway , who recently released the single 'Hope We Don't Die Young'. Other acts already confirmed for the event at this early stage include future rock stars Psychic Junk, who have already opened events such as the Big Gig and M-Fest as well as popular local cover bands including Parfanon and The Venezuelan Pig Rustlers.

There will also be a focus on celebrating the best of local produce with a wide range of locally brewed ales and ciders available to try as well as a varied selection of food options from local providers.

Any money raised by the event will go towards improvements at the club and into organising more community events, as the club seeks to give back to the community it serves. The Club runs three senior teams with around 100 registered players. It also runs a thriving Junior Section which has over 230 members and provides coaching, training and competitive games for boys and girls from 7 to 12 in its Mini Section on Sunday mornings. There are also teams for each age group from U13s to U18s.

To get discounted early bird tickets for the event, go to www.ticketsource.co.uk/BFM. For more information on the event, or if you would like to be involved with, support or sponsor the event, email the organising team at [email protected]
