All Stars Shining Bright in Midsomer Norton

While last week's opening evening of the youngster's cricket diary was a great success, despite the unseasonal clouds, the sun was in abundance this Friday as parents and supporters turned out en masse to support the community-based cricket club.
Midsomer Norton's FaBs AnGuiano, who was recently awarded her official British citizenship by Chair of Bath and North East Somerset Council, Cllr Shaun Stephenson-McGall, was congratulated by newly appointed Mayor of Midsomer Norton, Cllr Gordon Mackay and the Club's previous chairman Graeme King on Friday evening at the second successful night in the clubs's junior 'All Stars' programme.
Home of the Outfield Festival, to be held on the 27th August at the Withies Lane ground, the organisation committee were raising funds for the event by running the BBQ. Expanding their community involvement, the same Outfield team will, again, be giving up their time at the forthcoming Midsomer Norton Music Festival on June 3rd, running the 'Outfield Bar.'
Cllr Gordon Mackay was watching his third son take part in the successful All Stars cricket induction and commented, 'For us, as a family, the cricket club has been the very heart of what we do here in this amazing town. A few weeks ago, we were up supporting the boys at the Rugby Club, now we're down at the Cricket Club. You see the same faces, coaching, volunteering, getting involved. This is what community is, we're so grateful to be a part of it. Midsomer Norton is community.'
The All Stars Cricket season runs for another four weeks and those who haven't enrolled this year are encouraged to come down on Friday evenings to see what it's all about and maybe sign up for next year.
