Jacob Rees Mogg writes:
Recently, following a review, the Foreign Secretary wrote to Members of Parliament about the traffic light system in England.
From Sunday 8th August, Austria, Germany, Latvia, Norway, Romania and Slovenia were added to the green list. Slovakia passengers arriving from green list destinations will need to provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 test result prior to travel and take a further test on day two of their arrival in the United Kingdom (UK). Bahrain, India, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates have moved to the amber list and Georgia, Réunion, Mayotte and Mexico to the red list. Fully vaccinated arrivals from France to the UK will not have to quarantine, nor will they be required to quarantine or take a day eight test if they can provide proof of their vaccination status in advance of travel. Jabs would need to have been administered in the UK, Europe or the United States. Spain and all its islands remain on the amber list but those returning from these places should take a PCR test before departure. From Thursday 12th August, the cost for staying in a Managed Quarantine Facility when arriving from a red list country will increase to £2,285 for a single adult and £1,430 for a second adult. This includes transport to the hotel, security, provision of welfare services and the two PCR tests, which must be taken on day two and day eight of the stay. The price remains unchanged at £325 for children aged five to twelve and free for children under five. It is important to note, though, that the Government still advises against travel to red list countries. Please do not hesitate to contact me: www.jacobreesmogg.com / [email protected]
