The police are appealing for help to trace Wayne Bridges, aged58, who has connections with the Midsomer Norton area.

He is serving a prison sentence for robbery and assault at HMP Leyhill and has failed to return from day release.

He left the open prison in South Gloucestershire at 8am yesterday (Thursday October 24) for an appointment in Bath. Bridges was due back at 4.30pm and failed to return.

He is described as white, about 5ft 10ins tall and of medium build with short grey hair and the police say he has connections in the Midsomer Norton area.

If you know where he is now, do not approach him but call 999. If you have any other information which could help officers to locate him, ring 101, quoting reference 5219246971.

Alternatively ring the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. They never ask your name or trace your call.
