Bath College in Radstock re-opens with reminder about mandatory masks

By Susie Watkins 5th Jan 2022

Bath College, which has a campus in Radstock has re-opened today (January 4) with a reminder of the new rule about wearing a mask during lectures.

The rules on mask wearing in education were revised on January 1.

All pupils in secondary schools in England should return to wearing masks in classrooms, ministers said. The Department for Education said the advice would remain in place until 26 January, when it would be reviewed.

The advice adds "Face coverings do not need to be worn by staff or students when outdoors on the premises. This does not apply in situations where wearing a face covering would impact on the ability to take part in exercise or strenuous activity, for example during sports lessons and physical activity. "

You can read the latest guidance from the Department HERE : and includes advice on keeping teaching areas well ventilated.

Bath College posted on its site the following message : "Welcome back and Happy New Year to all our students and staff. We hope you all had a lovely break.

If you're back on campus, face coverings are required in lessons and when moving around in common areas.

We hope you have a lovely first week back. "
