Locals have expressed some surprise that the Christmas lights are already up in and around Radstock.
Christmas coming a bit early is not to everyone's taste and it seems a little unusual that up at Westfield Primary, parents and carers are being wished a happy Halloween from the play ground, while on the street lamps the lights are already in situ.
In Radstock itself the display should be bigger this year.
Radstock Town Council asked B&NES (who fund the lighting centrally) for more support and a bit more dazzle. So there will reportedly be two additional Christmas lights, those will be paid for by the town council with the money reserved from reduced activity last year. In addition the town council are getting new lights for the Christmas tree. All the lights will be ON from Saturday 27th November, the date of the official switch.
