National Highways is advising drivers travelling on the A303 to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys following a serious collision earlier today (January 23)

The A303 is closed in both directions between the Longbarrow and Countess roundabouts near Stonehenge following an incident involving a lorry and a car just after 10am.

Eastbound traffic is currently being diverted via the A360, B3086 and A345 to rejoin the A303 at Countess roundabout, with the westbound diversion operating in reverse.

With Wiltshire Police investigations anticipated to last beyond the afternoon and evening peak, National Highways is advising drivers to plan ahead and to consider alternative routes where possible.
