The ambulance service confirmed that one of the people involved in an accident this morning in Chilcompton was taken to hospital.

South Western Ambulance Service was called at 8.40am about a collision involving a lorry and a bus on Rock Road, Chilcompton.

The crew treated a female patient at the scene and then transported her to hospital for further care.

Eyewitnesses said that the crash was on a stretch of road described as a 'nightmare' route in Chilcompton ad was between a mini bus carrying school children and an HGV.

It happened at the junction of Naish's Cross and Rock Road in Chilcompton.

That stretch of road is narrow and the local pupils from nearby Downside Pupils have been told not to use it for fear of accidents.
