Entertainment line-up announced for Peasedown Party in the Park Festival
Some of the most popular and successful entertainment acts in the region will be performing at this year's Party in the Park Festival in Peasedown St John on Saturday 10th June.
Since last September bands have been applying to perform – meaning that the full stage line-up was already complete by February.
Party in the Park sets aside a budget of over £1,500 each year to cover the costs of PA technical support and stage hire.
The festival is organised by the village's local councillors, Cllr Karen Walker and Cllr Gavin Heathcote (Independents), who said: "A very large proportion of our festival budget goes on entertainment and all the costs we legally have to spend in connection with it.
Without the support of our major sponsors this year, we really would have struggled to put on the spectacular Summer Festival we have planned. In total, we received 33 enquires from performers wanting to appear on our Main Stage this year – the most ever!"
This year's festival sponsors are: Curo, St John's Church, Bath Audi, Truespeed, Bluebird Care and Mercedes-Benz of Bath.
Party in the Park has teamed up with Radio Bath and Reaper Events for the event.
Shaun Smith at Radio Bath has organised the line up of performances, and Reaper Events are providing the staging, lighting and sound equipment on the day.
Loraine Morgan-Brinkhurst MBE, one of Radio Bath's directors, said: "Peasedown Party in the Park is hugely popular not just locally, but across the region. This is why our team here at Radio Bath love to support it each year.
It's great to see public events like this happening across Bath & North East Somerset, they are great for bringing family and friends together."
The festival is expected to see almost 3,000 people come through its gates on June 10th.
Performing at this year's festival are:
Original Barn Finds
Hailing from the heart of rural Somerset, the Original Barn Finds were conceived in 2017 when cousins Chris and Rich Brown finally joined musical forces after years of procrastination, alongside life-long friends Trev Fox and Nick Pratt.
After a few open mic performances another old friend, Troy 'the bass player' Wells, joined to complete the line-up that has become much beloved by discerning punters at small local festivals and vintage car shows in the Somerset area.
Their mission is to bring joy to the masses through the medium of classic covers in a Folk/Americana/Bluegrass style.
Peasedown St John Primary School Children
Children from the local primary school will perform a number of songs – they have been practising for weeks so we're looking forward to having them with us.
Kerosene Grace
A Bath based band that was formed eight years ago who all have a mutual love for music and individual knew each other and came together.
They write their own songs with Steve on piano, Sam vocals and Luke on guitar.
Lille Rode
Original music artist Lille Røde in her guise as Little Red Riding Hood toys with themes from heartbreak to gender politics with a wink and a wry smile. Indie pop/rock utilising jazz and blues bass lines, psychedelic guitar riffs and catchy vocal hooks. Intelligent song writing with a theatrical twist. Like Sigrid meets Gwen Stefani via Sheryl Crow.
Frontwoman and songwriter Anna Mountford taught herself to sing as a child referencing Garland, Streisand, Maria McKee, Joan Osbourne, Edie Reader and the music scene of the 80's and 90's as major influences. She fronted covers and original bands in and around London through the 90's but began writing her own material in 2010 following a move to LA which she describes as a knee jerk response to the culture shock of living in Hollywood. A chapter in her life she loved and hated in equal measure.
Late Notice
Late Notice are a teen led indie band from Bath. They met at college doing the same course and immediately clicked.
Influenced by the more heavy indie bands such as Arctic Monkeys and Royal Blood, they have taken inspiration from bands such as Rage Against the Machine. They absolutely love performing together and can't wait to perform live at Party in the Park.
They have recently released their first single called "Tell Me", which is now available to the public.
Skimpy and the Trinity Band
Skimpy started out as a drummer in a steel reggae band when he was just 14 years old, and then quickly moved on to be a lead vocalist.
He has been a front man in a variety of bands such as funk, soul, and blues. He's worked in pubs, clubs and theatres for over 18 years whilst writing my own material. He's a new solo artist and will be performing live at Peasedown Party in the Park.
Trash Casino
The band initially came together in 2013 when members of 'Havoc' joined with 'Anno Domini' drummer Neil Rogers. After a break in 2016 and 2017 the band added singer Ian Rogers, also formerly with 'Anno Domini' in 2018 and keyboard player Rich Denning (Havoc) in 2020. For their gigs, Trash Casino look to play a blend of well-known Rock classics alongside a number songs by less obvious artists, playing them in their own unique style that always provides a bit of fun and energy.
Trash Casino are currently working on their first originals album.
Drew Neirin and the Star Shaped Pegs
Star Shaped Pegs are a Bath based, blues and soul act. Taking from inspiration from classic blues and soul, along with modern day singer songwriters and alternative music. Funky bass lines, jazz piano, blues guitar and soulful vocals. They're full of energy and passion, and an act not to be missed.
Peasedown Party in the Park officially starts at 11.30am on Saturday 10th June on Beacon Field - with festivities running until 7 pm.
The event features seven and a half hours of live music and entertainment – with Radio Bath and Reaper Events, a Dog Show, The Red Post Beer Tent and a huge range of stalls and attractions.
