Fire Domestic at Gurney Slade, Wells

Date: 28.07.2018Time: 20:53Location: Gurney Slade, WellsThe Fire Service were called to a report of a saucepan on fire which was  believed to be out within a property at the above location.  One fire appliance from Shepton Mallet was mobilised to this incident.  On arrival crews requested the attendance of an Ambulance due to person suffering from smoke inhalation.This was a fire involving a pan which had been left unattended whilst cooking.  Crews used a thermal imaging camera to check the roof space within the property.Chip pan fire out on arrival. 50% of kitchen damaged due to smoke.  One elderly occupant removed from property by neighbours prior to the arrival of the fire service.  Crews used one thermal imaging camera, small tools and a section of a triple extension ladder.  Oxygen therapy administered to casualty in a neighbours property by the Fire Service.  Casualty in hands of paramedics and being conveyed to hospital with non life threatening injuries.  The cause of the fire was accidental.
