Don't be scared - that's the message of the course co-ordinators who are offering a new, small, and completely free course for you to catch up on GCSE English or Maths.

Anyone who doesn't have a GCSE in these subjects in a C or above is eligible for free classes at the Somer Valley Campus.

Organisers said: " We have a real mix of people who take the courses with us – some are not English nationals so have never had the opportunity to take GCSE's, some didn't do too well at school, and some managed to completely fall through the net.

" Our courses are not something to be frightened of. The classrooms are small and easy to find, the tutors are experienced, patient and friendly and you will work in a classroom of people who have the same ability as you do.

"Many of our students go on to full-time jobs, apprenticeships and other courses once they have finished their Maths and English with us, and it's surprising what a wide range of ages, genders and nationalities attend these courses – so please do not think that you're the only person who wants to achieve these with us."
