Full marks - with freshly painted go slow for local school signs for the infants school which closed in 2005
The highways department has been widely mocked for not being top of the class, painting go slow signs outside a Radstock school which closed 15 years ago.
The Former Radstock County Infant School as it is formally known, was cleared back in 2005 and has been empty since, with locals complaining that it has attracted the attention of fly tippers.
But today (July 9) a local took a photo of the brand new painted warnings urging motorists to slow down while passing the site.
As you can see from the photo, the school gates are well and truly closed up.
As one comment on social media pointed out, other schools in the Somer Valley which are open, have very worn away signs - but no children have been running around here since 2005.
The old infants school is now completely derelict.
On the B&NES planning site, under Reference Number PP-08823464 by Hawkfield Homes (west) Ltd have put in an application to demolish the existing vacant school buildings and build 17 homes there.
