The main service station, a Shell garage on Wells Road was all out of petrol today (September 25) at lunchtime.

But social media reports were that if you needed fuel as an emergency there was some available at Chilcompton.

It comes as the motoring group, the AA, told motorists NOT to panic buy.

"Panic buying rather than supply chain issues is driving the shortage of fuel at some petrol stations in the UK" said the president of the Automobile Association on Saturday.

Texaco in Frome took in a delivery yesterday night and as of lunchtime today has fuel, but one local station is also putting a £30 limit on fuelling to protect supplies for emergency services.

Sainsbury's in Frome as of 2pm Saturday was still not open for fuel, while social media reporter there is unleaded at Budgens close to Frome.
