Hello everyone,

First of all, I want to thank you all for all your positive feedback on my first column. I'm glad it brought back happy memories for many of you. Introductions are in order though so allow me to explain who I am and what bought me to write these articles I'll be bringing you.

My name is Todd Arthur Phillips, I was born and raised in and around Radstock. History has been a passion for me since my earliest days; growing up with my folks going to many National Trust and English Heritage sites.

Then grew a passion for films which led me to my first interest in researching Caribbean Pirates, you can guess which film inspired me on that!

I have done work experience at the Roman Baths, then after graduating from Bath College in Travel and Tourism, took on the position of a full-time museum porter. In 2016, I became a visitor services host and as part of that job I conducted tours, which inevitable led to teaching people the history that surrounds us.

During 2018, I started working for the Jones family as a full-time receptionist at the Centurion Hotel in Midsomer Norton while still working as a guide at the Roman Baths.

This opportunity arose about writing local history and of course, my brain jumped at the idea, how great would it be to learn and teach at the same time! It's vital these days that my generation should see how important history and how much effect it had on the current society we now live in.

The Jones's family were kind enough to share their insights with me helping to create my first article that I very much enjoyed sharing with you.

In case you missed it you can read that HERE:

Excitingly, Radstock Museum's team and I will be working together closely to bring you new and exciting historic stories about what Radstock has to offer. Stay tuned. I look forward to bringing out my next column for you!
