The area has been awarded £1.5 million to spend on getting local people more active, so called social prescribing. The team behind the Beat The Street game in the summer are responsible for managing the funding which is being aimed in particular towards those with Long Term health conditions.

They are also working with Sustrans to bring more inclusivity bikes to the area along with possibly bringing some e bike hire to the Somer Valley along with mobile bike repair shops.
