Maisie Williams is nominated for an Emmy Award

Maisie Williams, who went to Norton Hill School in Midsomer Norton and grew up in Clutton, has been nominated for an Emmy Award for her performances as Arya Stark in the hit show Game of Thrones.

Maisie is on the shortlist for the Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category, where she is joined by fellow Game of Thrones stars Gwendoline Christie, Lena Headey and Sophie Turner.

Killing Eve's Fiona Shaw and Julia Garner from Ozark make up the other two contenders.

This year will see the 71st Emmy Awards, with the winners being announced at the ceremony on Sunday September 22.

The final series of Game of Thrones topped the list of nominations with 32, followed by The Marvelous Mrs Maisel with 20.
