The Mayor of Midsomer Norton, Cllr Gordon Mackay, and his family were the latest to enjoy a meal at the widely acclaimed Greek restaurant Nisi, after it reopened earlier this month. Situated at the Island in Midsomer Norton, Nisi provides a bright and fresh dining experience with large windows looking out to the Island and Town Hall.

Commenting, Cllr Mackay said, "I was hoping to visit Nisi when it first opened but missed out when it unfortunately closed for a while. On reading they had opened again, I was keen to take my family out for a meal. My first impression was really good, it's a lovely place for a restaurant and the food is excellent, the whole family really enjoyed themselves."

The Island at Midsomer Norton is scheduled for a major £1.2m redevelopment programme due to start later this year which will see the introduction of a Market Square which can be be configured for events of various sizes. Complementing the Town Hall, which is currently being refurbished, the Island will provide a welcoming, safe and attractive public space with high-quality surface materials, street furniture and events infrastructure.

"With the new Dog Lovers Shop, Coffee Stop & Groomery opening recently and now Nisi back, in great form, I think this is a really exciting time for our High Street." continued Cllr Mackay. "I'm really pleased we have so many restaurants and cafés to choose from. It's now more important than ever, we all get out supporting them and helping our town thrive."
