The decision on whether McDonald's can come to Midsomer Norton is expected on Monday (January 22) by the planners in B&NES.

The application, for a change of use, would see the chain take on the former Argos building in the High Street.

Comments on the application have now closed, but the final note on the application was from a resident who started a petition against the development and had collected 237 signatures in support.

The petitioner estimates that the fast food operation could see 200 cars an hour coming and leaving the site, adding that McDonald's would put the town's teenagers at risk.

The application was made at the end of November 23 with details under 29/09/2023
