Civic Awards Postponed.

The Midsomer Norton Town Council Civic Awards have, sadly, been postponed until the autumn.

A spokesman for the town said: "It's disappointing but hopefully something can be reschedued soon. "

Nub News understands the reason for them being postponed is staffing shortages at the town council.

The awards, which were discussed in a confidential sessions at the town council before the election of new councillors on were due at the end of May.

Last year the awards returned for the first time since covid and were presented in June St John's Church.

Awards included:

1: Community Group of the Year: Wombles of Midsomer Norton and Surrounding Area

Presented by Cllr Richard Robertson

In recognition of service to the community during lockdown and beyond in keeping streets and public areas free of litter.

2: Youth Achievement Award: Sophie Rowe and Ruby Russell

Presented by Cllr Pete Mocock
