Midsomer Norton latest crime figures show rise for January with violent and sexual offences accounting for nearly half of reports

The police have just published their latest crime figures and they show that within Midsomer Norton the overall number of crimes continues to fall.

Back in November 2023, there were a total of 170 reported offences - the highest over a two year period.

Those fell to a total of in December of 136.

Last month's figures show an increase to 149 which are broken down into :

  • Violence and sexual offences
  • 70
  • Anti-social behaviour
  • 16
  • Public order
  • 16
  • Shoplifting
  • 15

Ninety five of those reported are now currently under investigation, while 29 cases are described as " being unable to prosecute.".
