Midsomer Norton Town Council has formally given its response to plans to convert the former Argos building into a McDonald's.

On the B&NES planning web site their response is :

There was some concern about the noise and light from the signs, it was also requested whether restricted opening hours could be approved by the planning officers to limit antisocial behaviour late at night. There were mixed views, but it was felt that it would be good for the economic impact and sustainability of Midsomer Norton High Street by increasing the footfall and as a result the Planning Committee from Midsomer Norton recommended approval.

The application (23/03656/FUL) is expected to be decided sometime in late November, although it is not thought the business, if it is given the go-ahead, will open until 2025.
