News that the High Street in Midsomer Norton has secured new funding for revitalising the area was met with some negativity from some residents.
One post on social media said the money was bound to be wasted however another was more positive stating that as a newcomer to the town, they thought it was a lovely place and has the potential to be even better.
Midsomer Norton is one of more than 60 high streets to receive funding as part of Historic England's Heritage Action Zone programme.
Awarded £981,000 from Historic England, the HSHAZ project is also supported by the West of England Combined Authority's 'Love Our High Streets' Fund (£895,000), Bath & North East Somerset Council (£300,000), Midsomer Norton Town Council (£45,000) and Midsomer Norton Community Trust (£25,000).
Plans include improvements to the Town Hall and adjacent shopfronts and better pedestrian links to the High Street, including from the South Road Car Park.
In case you missed it our report on what is happening is HERE:
detailing the plans There is a new web site dedicated to keeping residents up to date with what is happening in the town HERE : Although there do seem to be some problems with connectivity The last update on the town currently comes from July 2021.
