Midsomer Norton Town Council advertises for new Town Clerk

Midsomer Norton Town Council is advertising for a Town Clerk & Responsible Finance Officer with a starting salary point of £39,000.

The job, posted on the Midsomer Norton website is for someone with ambition and experience or knowledge of local government. They will be able to get specific training for the post on the job.

The pay is put at £39,493 – £42,503 dependent upon qualifications and experience.

The post is full-time (37 hours per week) and qualifies for membership of the pension scheme too. Applications close on February 17.

The current town clerk resigned earlier this year, as has the deputy clerk of Midsomer Norton Town Council. The reasons for the resignation was reportedly read out at an extraordinary meeting of the Town Council this week (January 23) but Nub News, who did go to the council room, was excluded from the meeting because of issues of confidentiality.
