Midsomer Norton Nub News likes to support new local business when they open, so we were pleased to pop into Somer Fine Foods just a week after they opened their doors.

The business is owned by Paul McEvoy who many will recall from his years running the butchery at Farrington's Farm shop.

Wanting to branch out on his own, Somer Fine Foods is already bursting with offers. From faggots and hand made pies, ready meals to rare finds such a rarer deli items and sandwiches, but he also stocks frozen pet food, free range eggs and will soon have a bigger counter of local cheeses.

Oh if you fancy some tripe, the shop, at 8 High Street, has you covered.

They say: " With 40 years of experience, we combine our expertise with the finest local ingredients to serve you delicious, homegrown fresh and frozen food."

Already just a few days in, and the reviews are good with one customer posting : " The Tiffin was one of the best I've had. A potentially great replacement for Docky's... and certainly a welcome addition to the high street."

Docky's, further up the street, closed last April after nearly two decades trading.
