The Mayor of Midsomer Norton, Cllr Gordon Mackay, was first in line on Sunday morning to collect Outfield Festival Tickets for himself and his family. 

Tickets for the event will not be available to collect on the day so must be picked up in person from the Cricket Club unless postage is added to the order. 

Further dates will be publicised on Facebook and via email, so ticket holders needn't worry if they haven't got them yet.

Tickets are selling fast so any potential festival-goers are being encouraged to order soon, especially if they will be taking children as these tickets are very close to selling out.

In addition to broadband provider, Truespeed, local firm Quick Print MSN are sponsoring the festival and provided the tickets which feature a panoramic outline of the Withies Lane ground printed on textured card with the Outfield logo in the corner.

"It's really good having these beautifully printed tickets," said Cllr Mackay, "so many events have e-tickets now, which is really convenient but it's great to have a physical ticket sometimes too. The quality is brilliant, typical Outfield, everything is better than expected."

With headliners The Hoosiers and Dodgy, this will be the third Outfield Festival held at the Midsomer Norton cricket ground. Like the previous events, Midsomer Norton Town Council contributed from its grant budget but this year with a slightly different twist. Half of the £3,000 funding will be spent providing tickets for children and their families who might not normally be able to attend such events.

"I think it's a really inclusive, community-minded idea," said the Mayor, "this is an incredible festival to have right here in Midsomer Norton so we want as many people to experience it as possible. We've just had a successful free Music Festival at the Town Park, organised by the Community Trust which saw over 3,000 people visit over the day. While Outfield Festival isn't free, it is amazing value and their budget allows a pretty spectacular show."

Outfield Festival is on the 27th August.
