Planning news locally :

Tesco's, at Old Mills, in Paulton has put in an application for tree works. Details (although heavily redacted) under 22/01100/TCA. There is an action plan included which details how they will ensure that any impact on neighbouring properties will be minimised.

Also in Paulton, 23 Brookside Close (under planning portal reference

22/01088/FUL ) has applied to raise the ridge height on the existing bungalow to allow for the conversion of the loft space. In Midsomer Norton itself, 19 Clapton Road, has put in a planning application to replace existing hip roof with gable roof with rooms in its attic space and to replace existing rear projection roof with a flat roof. Details under 22/01089/FUL Over in Westfield, 3 Ruskin Road, under reference 22/01075/FUL has put in an application for a hard standing driveway with drop kerb access. In Shoscombe White Hill Barn, on White Hill (under 22/01111/COND)

has requested discharge of condition 2 (Flood Risk and Drainage ) of application 19/04557/FUL, ( which is for building a new apex building for the rearing of calves.)

Also in Shoscombe, Woodland View, on Single Hill, has applied to dIscharge of condition 4 (Wildlife Protection, Mitigation and Enhancement Scheme (Pre-commencement)) of application 21/03942/FUL. That is for the building of one new home on the site of an existing bungalow which will be demolished.

Planning decisions made this week by B&NES include:

The homeowners of 4 Mandy Meadows, Midsomer Norton have been given permission to convert the existing garage structure to form one new bedroom and to replace of existing garage and workshop doors.

Over in Peasedown St John, at 48 Westbury View, the homeowners have been permitted to tackle problems and decay on their Ash tree.

And in High Littleton an application by 13 Rotcombe Vale (

21/05285/FUL ) for the building of a new home, has been withdrawn.
