There has been a bit of a social media storm over in Midsomer Norton when we published criticism of the town Christmas tree.

Obviously Nub News came in for a lot of non-festive flak for even repeating that the tree in The Hollies in Midsomer was less than sensational.

You can read about one woman's comments about the tree by clicking HERE:

the critic said the tree was a disgrace compared with Radstock and Paulton

There was also a comment that readers did not realise that Christmas tree envy was a thing !

Clearly emotions do tend to run high when it comes to how town's decorate for Christmas.

Our sister site Hadley Nub News has reported that criticism of Christmas Trees is not limited to the Somer Valley. But as they report, making a complaint has not gone down well with the local council. Click HERE for details :

with the complainant threatened with a so-called gagging order She told the Nub editor there : " It was horrible to be threatened by the mayor with an injunction for asking questions and being concerned that the council were not acting correctly. "Despite being concerned at the consequences for myself, I refuse to be bullied and intimidated into staying silent." All we can say is that this tree in the centre of Radstock by the wheel, is a delight. That's official.
