Details have been given out of the funeral of one of the most established traders in Radstock - with donations to local charities

The funeral of Thomas Thomson of Thomson Hardware in Radstock will be held next week with many many people expected to pay their respects to a man who was at the heart of Radstock and served them for fifty years. Now, with details given by his daughter about his funeral, it is clear that he will continue to help out the town, with donations to two local charities.

His family said they have been truly overwhelmed by all the condolences and messages of support they have had.

His funeral will be at St Nicholas Church, Radstock at 12.30pm on 24th May, with time afterwards at the Radstock Working Men's Club.

They added : " His legacy will continue with the shop remaining in family ownership and we look forward to serving you for the next 50 years."

The shop will be closed all day on the day of the funeral but open again at 9am Thursday 25.
