It was described as nothing short of carnage but travel through Radstock should be easier today ( January 29).

After lane closures due to emergency gas pipe works, left motorists taking an hour to cross down those lights should have been removed.

The traffic delays, due to the gas works alongside changes to traffic lights on the way into Midsomer Norton, were extreme.

The changes now in place are to bus stops.

The Street in Radstock heading towards Bath only will be closed to services 172, 173, 174 and 522 from 07:00 on Monday 29th January through to February 9.

Services heading towards Bath only will remain on the A367 and the Victoria Hall bus stops in The Street will not be served and passengers are advised to board or alight at the temporary bus stop which will be situated outside of The Radstock Hotel on the main A367.

Services heading from Bath will be able to operate normal routes.
