Children, along with their parents, were invited back to school in Shoscombe last weekend for a special event.

Organised by FOSSA – the Friends of Shoscombe School Association – a socially distant pumpkin trail was coordinated throughout the village.

School Headteacher, Ruth Noall, said: "Thanks to everyone for taking part in the School's Pumpkin Trail last weekend. We served hot drinks, treats, and gave out some very useful maps to everyone taking part.

The trail was divided into two parts. The first was to find all the local pumpkins and vote for your favourite; and the second was to find individual letters hidden in trees that could be unscrambled to reveal a hidden word.

The hidden words were Creativity and Wonder and the winner took this hamper home.

We're grateful to the Friends of Shoscombe School for organising the event. Even whilst social distancing, and following government guidelines on Covid-19, it shows we can still raise much needed funds for the school."

£100 was raised on the day which will go towards additional educational resources for the school.
