The Village Voices Community Choir hosted 'A Summer Evening' at Ston Easton Village Hall on 24th June, in aid of Somerset-based cancer counselling charity We Hear You (WHY)

Audience members paid £5 for an evening of musical entertainment, with the rest of the £550 event proceeds coming from refreshment sales and donations. Fundraising Officer Helen White said "What a fantastic total – the money raised from this event will help us meet the growing demand for our vital specialist services for children and adults affected or bereaved by cancer and life-threatening conditions. Thank you so much to the choir for choosing to support WHY and to Jacky for bringing in the cheque and presenting it to our Fundraising Manager Ruth."

Jacky Smith from the Village Voices Choir said: "Choir members voted to support WHY because many have been affected by cancer , either personally or family members. Being able to access a local service such as the one offered by WHY is amazing".
