The water from two storms is still lying deep around Glastonbury - an area where there are almost always floods following heavy rain.

But today (December 11) most of Somerset enjoyed a dry and sunny day. However the local weather man, over at Kilmersdon, along with the Met Office, is warning that locals should make the most of the dry, because more rain is on its way.

After Tuesday's deluge, it should then become drier once more.

He posted : " Tuesday will be a very showery day with some scattered but heavy showers around. There is even a small risk of hail and thunder as these showers pass over but they will always be followed by a return to sunshine in moderate SW winds.

OUTLOOK

Some residual rain on Wednesday and maybe a brief spell of drizzle on Thursday but thereafter High pressure will develop bringing dry weather with some brighter intervals and a lot of cloud and temperatures will be close to the seasonal average with only very limited chances of fog or frost at night. "

The local, and highly respected weather man is about to publish his predictions for Christmas. You can find out whether he think it is at all likely we will have a white one HERE
