School children at a popular rural primary school have raised £130 to support other children living with a heart condition.

A cake sale was held in the school recently where parents and staff could come along to purchase some tasty delights!

School Headteacher, Ruth Noall, said:

"Thanks to all the children who took part in our Heart Heroes fundraising event. Whether they baked, decorated or bought cakes, it was an exciting event for everyone to get involved with.

Heart Heroes supports families of children living with congenital heart disease and heart problems. The charity aims to provide services for these children, to help them meet others who are in similar situations and allow their family to talk to other families going through related experiences.

Heart defects are diagnosed in at least 1 in every 150 births, so the work of organisations like this is essential."

Children at St Julian's are encouraged and supported to get involved with a number of fundraising events throughout the year from Macmillan Coffee Mornings to raising funds for the local Foodbank at Harvest time.
