What does Radstock want to do on VE Day?

By Susie Watkins 3rd Feb 2020

In his latest letter to Radstock, the Mayor, Rupert Bevan told Nub News:

As the first glimmers of sunshine steal through the wooded batches of our valley, we are reminded that spring is not far off. Before long the sounds of two-stroke lawn mowers and Japanese strimmers will intrude on our week-end afternoons.

Time to think ahead and to plan. Last week I mentioned the Town Twinning event in Lançon-Provence. Personally, I am greatly looking forward to this. We well very well looked after last year and I know they have been preparing for our visit in May (20-24) since well before last Christmas. We will also be meeting delegates from Vogogna, Lançon's Italian twin-town. Please do think about joining in. You don't need to be a French speaker or empty your savings account- most things are found.

To celebrate VE Day, the May-Day Bank Holiday has been moved to Friday 08 May. Many parishes are organising street parties and other events to honour this important 75th anniversary.
