The building of two one-bedroom flats, hard and soft landscaping and associated works, following the demolition of the existing building at Sunlife Buildings, South View Place, Midsomer Norton, by Neil Wakerell and Scott Stephens has been approved.

Planning applications received this week include:

Works to trees in a conservation area, T1 Ash - extensive Chalara dieback, fell to ground level & replace with Pyrus Calleryana "Chanticleer" at On The Rocks, Frys Well, Chilcompton, are wanted by Mr P Kuzemka.

The proposed demolition of existing detached garage, erection of side/rear extensions, conversion of the roof space to form a chalet bungalow, and front porch extension with increased front gable over at 5 St Mark's Road, Midsomer Norton, has been applied for by Mr and Mrs A Veal.

Fosseway Tree Services have applied to permission to work on a hedgerow in a conservation area - Prune Goat Willow (T1) - Prune, reduce crown by 1m at Curtsons (Radstock) Ltd, Mill Road, Radstock, and nine Ash (T1) – Removal at Old Pit Garage, Coombend, Radstock.

The erection of garage and conservatory at 60 Eckweek Road, Peasedown St John, has been applied for by Mr and Mrs Peter Leray.

Applications decided this week include:

An application for approval of details reserved by conditions 3 (external facing materials), on planning consent 2018/1007/FUL on land off Parsonage Lane, Chilcompton, by Mrs and Mrs Ian and Christine Hobbs has been approved.

Works to trees in a conservation area, T1 - Beech - 2m reduction to northern side of the canopyT2 - Ash - fell to allow neighboring Beech tree to develop at White Chimneys, Paulton Road, Hallatrow, by Mr Sam Muscat have been refused.

Erection of bedroom extension above existing attached garage at 31 Upper Furlong, Timsbury, by Mr Stephen Tanner has been approved.

Non-material amendment to application 09/00043/FUL (Conversion and extension of existing buildings to form two. dwellings) at Old Workshop, Bath Old Road, Radstock, by Ms Claire Metham has been approved.

Erection of single storey extension to stores area at Weaver Demolition Ltd Unit 1, Farrington Fields Trading Estate, Farrington Gurney, by Weaver Demolition has been approved.

Change of use from 1st and 2nd floor maisonette to 1 bedroom flat on the first and second floors at 4 The Street, Radstock, by DM and JP Commercial Ltd has been approved.

Garage conversion to include installation of window following removal of garage door at 2 Winterfield Close, Paulton, by Mr Zak Paradise has been approved.

Erection of single storey rear extension at 33 Fir Tree Avenue, Paulton, by Mr Terence Rogers has been approved.

Erection of single storey extension to the rear elevation at 7 Naishes Avenue, Peasedown St John, by Mr Peter Graveson has been approved.

Erection of two storey rear extension at 11 Hope Place, Paulton, by Mr and Mrs Cox has been approved.

Discharge of condition 5 of application 19/01833/ADCOU (Prior approval request for change of use from Agricultural Building to one Dwelling (C3) and associated operational development.) at Meadgate Farm, Weekesley Lane, Timsbury, by Mr James Dexter has been approved.
