The 16 members of the Midsomer Norton Lunch Bunch met for the last time on Monday 4 December when they enjoyed a Christmas lunch at the Old Down Inn.

Mrs Sam Hopkins has been co-ordinating the monthly lunches for the past 11 years. She 'stood in' whilst B&NES Age UK tried to find someone who could do this on a permanent basis. This didn't happen and Sam has been enjoying meeting with the group ever since.

At the height of it's membership, there were 25 guests attending; it has been very sad to lose some of these friends over the years.

AGE UK no longer arranges this type of lunch and Sam is having to give up for health reasons so the group must now cease to be.

"I would like to thank everyone in the group who has supported it for so many years; welcoming new members with kindness." said Sam. " The Lunch Bunch has been a mixture of wonderful, fulfilling and sad; it will be difficult to see it end".
