rand raffle draw, but we have secured some great prizes from some generous local business…

Would you like to get your hands on a bit of local footballing legend history ?

Ashley Barnes who lived at Dunkerton, he went to Writhlington School and played for Timsbury, Welton and Paulton Rovers, has donated the star prize in a local raffle.

It is a #10 Barnes Burnley shirt signed by the squad, a team which have just been promoted to the Premier League.

Ashley is currently in his last season after 10 years at Burnley Football Club playing in both the Championship and Premier league - so the very top level of English football.

And you can get your hands on his shirt from the raffle being held by Midsomer Norton Football Club at their end of season awards on May 12.

Tickets will be drawn on the night at Paulton Rovers FC Francis suite and all the money raised will be going back into local football, maybe to make a next generation Barnes ? The youth arm of the club train 150 children every week, so there's lots of hope.

There are also a lot of other local prizes from local companies including a Nintendo Switch, Mulberry Purse, £100 cash and a wheelbarrow full of local ciders and beers.

Tickets available to buy from behind the bar at Midsomer Norton Cricket Club or Trophies of Radstock at Old Mills Paulton. Alternatively message the Football Clubs Facebook page. Tickets will also be available on the night.
