You may not be a fan - but Bath has just been put top of a poll of the most relaxing city in the UK

New research has revealed the destination with the most spas in the UK- Bath has the most. 

The study, conducted by the team at Slingo, looked at the cities with the most spas as well as the cities with the most five-star hotels to determine the most luxurious and relaxing cities in the UK.

Bath is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its Roman Baths and charming 18th Century architecture. The city is home to 9.5 spas per 10 km2 - including the Thermae Bath Spa, Britain's only natural hot spring, and The Bath Massage Company.

Stratford-Upon-Avon, known for being the birthplace and beloved home town of William Shakespeare, has the second most amount of spas, with 8.26 per 10km2. 

The capital city of Edinburgh comes in third with 7.70 spas per 10km2. Edinburgh is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is celebrated for its historic cobbled streets.

The study also looked at the UK destinations with the most 5-star hotels. 

  • Anglesey is home to the most Michelin-starred restaurants outside of London - 6.9 restaurants per 10 km2.
  • The destination with the most hotels with a hot tub or jacuzzi is Jersey- with 19% of all hotels having the amenities.
