Concerns have been raised about the a venue on Midsomer Norton High Street and its links to anti-social behaviour in the town. A report made by Midas Security, the company running the town's Street Marshal contract, suggests that there was a reduction in violent behaviour in the weeks ending August 7th and August 14th, when the fast-food retailer, the Charcoal Grill, was closed.

At their meeting of October 3, Midsomer Norton Town Council voted to raise their concerns about the lack of door staff at the Charcoal Grill with the B&NES licencing team. The Town Council also agreed to discuss the issue at the next Community Alcohol Partnership meeting, although it is not known when that meeting will take place. The last recorded meeting of the CAP was back on Tuesday June 14, when the Regional Coordinator, Matt Knight, met with representatives of Midsomer Norton Town Council.

The CAP brings together local organisations with a shared interest in preventing underage drinking, including schools, retailers and the police. Back in July, the Town Council were presented with a series of recommendations from Midas Security, on how they felt the night-time economy in the Town could be improved by reducing anti-social behaviour.

Midas suggested that the venues in Midsomer Norton return to a local Pub Watch style scheme that would "quickly improve the night economy and safety", with agreed data sharing protocols in place to ensure the scheme is compliant with Data Protection laws. At the same meeting, the Town Council undertook to create a working group "with stakeholders including Midas Security, local venues and the police, to create a strategy for reducing anti-social behaviour in the town".

While the Town Council have approved the purchase of 10 Hytera Digital two-way radios for use by Midas Security staff and local venues, no further mention has been made of the CAP by the Town Council, until the concerns about the Charcoal Grill and its link to anti-social behaviour were raised earlier this month.
