Inspired by lockdown, but cooked up in answer to the growing cost of living crisis, a trio from Midsomer Norton are taking their food business on the road to anyone who needs it.

In his first solo business venture former Somervale pupil Jake Hillier, 30 who used to work for Techniglaze, trained as a cook and started a takeaway kitchen in Westfield by the White Post.

But now the trio behind Nomad BBQ are offering a new service, for the growing need for hot meals, a FREE delivery to the door once a month to those in need.

Jake, works with fellow Somervale pupils, Stu James, also 30 and Louka Grivas who is 27, and is also behind the design of their be-spoke smoker for their catering business.

Jake told Nub News : " Lockdown came and I decided to retrain and do all the relevant qualifications to make the dream a reality! Always wanted to start a street food business, but never had to guts to take the leap of faith until lockdown came. "

Now that growing business is going one step more offering free meals and they have launched a fundraiser to get the project on the road.

The fundraiser is HERE :

Jake says : " We want to try and bring a bit of cheer and Nomads joy by starting a community kitchen that will bring high quality free meals once a month to anyone who needs it.  The plan is to raise a small amount of money (£600.00) to help with the initial set up costs and cover fuel.

" The idea is that we will go out in our catering van once a month to serve completely free meals to anyone that asks or needs it. "
