One of the local school bus operators has asked parents to make sure their child travelling into Norton Hill or Somervale school is wearing a mask.

Berkeley Coaches put out the advisory on social media, after it noticed that " an increasing number" of pupils were not wearing them.

In a message aimed at those going to the local schools it asked parents to remind their children to have a mask them, and to put them on while on the buses.

Under coronavirus current guidelines:

: Children aged over 11 should wear face coverings and use hand sanitiser.

: All school vehicles being used by B&NES are deep cleaned before and after travel.

Face coverings have been compulsory on public transport in England since 15 June, but children under the age of 11, disabled people and anyone with breathing difficulties don't have to wear one.
