The parent company of a concrete business close to Midsomer Norton say they hope that precautions and cleaning is the end of any further issues as two members of staff test positive for coronavirus.

The two worked in the administrative part of CPM in Mells and were tested after being contacted through the NHS tracing system.

Parent company Marshalls said the staff members had been contacted after "out-of-work socialising".

A full statement from Marshalls sent to Nub News said: ""We can confirm that two members of staff have tested positive for Covid-19 after being contacted by the NHS Track and Trace system as a result of out of work socialising.

"Several other members of staff have been tested and received negative results, however they are all self-isolating as a precaution. Our offices and a vehicle have been deep-cleaned and all other Covid measures remain in place to ensure we are doing all we can to keep people safe when they return to work."

Although within Mendip, the site is closer to Midsomer Norton where there has been a spike in positive coronavirus cases in recent days.
