Midsomer Norton Chamber of Commerce IS being wound up - Nub News has learnt.

The chamber's input into the new commercial hub being created in the town was already in doubt and this last weekend while many local town had special Small Business Saturday events to support local business, often backed by local chambers, Midsomer Norton was noticeably without any commercial push.

Now Nub New has had it confirmed that there is no longer a working Chamber of Commerce.

The last official at the chamber told us: " Unfortunately, the Somer Valley Chamber of Commerce is currently in the process of being wound up due to the substantial fall in membership in recent years and therefore will not have any input into the plans for Midsomer Norton. "

It comes as there are questions over the commercial viability of the Midsomer Norton regeneration. Tonight (December 5) Midsomer Norton Town Council will be looking at next year's budget which is expected to involve cuts to many town events.
