Could you help out at Radstock's Whisty Hall?

Is there anybody out there who would be willing to help start up and run either a Senior Citizens Group, a Parent/Toddler Group or a Bingo Group on a voluntary basis? This is the question that the Trustees of Whisty Hall in the Tyning area of Radstock have been asking.

There had been all these groups meeting at the hall but over a period of years they finished due to various circumstances. "It would be lovely to have the groups back again so that the hall can provide these services locally which would mean people would not have to travel very far" said Shirley Turner who is one of the Trustees. "The hall still has the equipment available to be able to start a Parent/Toddler group or a Bingo Group, so that would not be a problem" she continued.

Whisty Hall continues to thrive and is well used by the local community and the surrounding areas. At the moment, the hall is fully booked during the evenings but the Trustees would like to see it used more often during the daytime. At weekends the hall is used for a Tots Football Group for the under 5's; monthly Line Dance Discos, wrestling events or bookings for family events such as children's birthday parties, special occasion birthday parties and weddings.

The hall has a smaller room which is also available to hire either during the daytime or evenings. This room will seat up to 45 people and is ideal for meetings or courses etc. as it is fitted out with an overhead projector/dvd player/8ft screen.

The charges of hiring the hall or smaller room are set at very competitive rates and details of these can be obtained from Shirley.

If you would be interested in either starting up or running any of the above; even perhaps setting up a different group or just booking the hall, then please contact Shirley on 01761 435101 or e-mail: [email protected]
