Courier woes lead some areas to not have any deliveries while one local brewing company decides to take their own stocks

By Susie Watkins 25th Dec 2022

The troubles of getting a delivery in and around Radstock have meant one company, the Newtown Park brewery in Bath, deciding to take its own stock out to deliver.

The company has decided to run out Christmas stocks rather than as it put it, " take a chance " with couriers.

The problems of getting a pre-Xmas delivery led one company, DPD, to suspend deliveries in nearly 50 postcodes including nearly all of the Somer Valley.

Postcodes impacted were BA11 (which was the whole of Frome) BA3 2, BA3 3 (which is the centre of Radstock) , along with BA3 4, BA3 5, BA3 9.

As of December 21 the company is now back with a service. They told Nub News : " But we know there are still some localised delays. Most postcodes are being delivered next-day. "

However many locals in Radstock continued to post on social media of delays and missed deliveries.

The post office workers will next be on strike today ( December 23), and also on Christmas Eve, December 24.
