A reader has contacted Midsomer Norton Nub News to make an appeal to dog walkers to stop leaving mess close to the local school.

People are constantly leaving bags of dog poo along the new footpath at the back of Norton Hill school.

The bags are either left on the ground or hanging from the hedge. The reader said that have reported this several times to B&NES and it has been cleared up, but then it returns. She added : " Dog owners in the area just don't care.

"This footpath was built so primary aged children can walked to the new primary school in Silver Street. They should not have to encounter this foul mess.

I asked the council for a litter bin but nothing has been forthcoming. "
